Cut log running

Every program switch lands as a timecoded edit decision while the show is still happening.

After a live multicam shoot

The line cut exists — but the edit decisions disappear.

An assistant logs cuts by hand, or an editor rebuilds the show from scratch. Synced multicam timelines take hours before real editing even starts.

• Nobody saved which camera was live when.

• A dropped or mistimed cut can drift the whole edit.

• The show’s intent gets separated from the footage.

LiveCut captures the decisions you already made, the moment you made them.

How it works

Three steps from switcher to timeline.

01

Connect your switcher.

LiveCut listens to tally over the network — Ross Carbonite, For.A, or Blackmagic ATEM. No extra hardware on the program path.

02

Run your show.

Every program cut is logged live with frame-accurate timecode. Drop markers from the app, phone, or Stream Deck.

03

Export the edit.

Assign each camera’s clip, hit export, and open a frame-accurate multicam timeline in Resolve, FCP, or Premiere.

See LiveCut in the moments it matters.

MARK

+

A producer taps one button from phone or Stream Deck. The marker lands instantly.

EXPORT

Back in post, the editor opens a multicam timeline that already follows the live switch.

The show is already cut — your switcher just doesn’t save it. LiveCut does.

From live multicam to a frame-accurate edit — automatically.

No paper logs. No scrubbing through hours of footage. The cut is done before the editor sits down.

Frame-accurate by design

Every cut resolves back to its exact source timecode — verified to zero-frame error.

Local-only Mac app

Built for messy real-world production days.

Any camera format

BRAW, ProRes, RED R3D, Sony/ARRI MXF, ARRIRAW, MP4 — mix resolutions and codecs freely.

Reference audio that never drops

Assign a clean board feed as main audio. It plays continuously under every cut.

Nothing falls through

A cut to a camera with no footage becomes a timed placeholder, not a gap.

Local-only, no cloud

Everything runs on your Mac, on your network. No accounts, no uploads, no server subscription.

Questions? Answers.

Do I need extra hardware?

No. LiveCut listens to your switcher’s existing tally over the network. For timecode it reads MIDI MTC or audio LTC.

Which switchers are supported?

Ross Carbonite, For.A generic TSL, and Blackmagic ATEM over the network.

Which editors can I export to?

DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and Premiere Pro. Resolve is validated; FCP uses native FCPXML.

What camera formats work?

Any — BRAW, ProRes, RED R3D, Sony/ARRI MXF, ARRIRAW, MP4. Mix resolutions and codecs in one timeline.

Is my footage uploaded anywhere?

No. LiveCut is local-only. It runs on your Mac and your network — no cloud, no accounts.
